Renovation of a municipal facility in Salem, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The scope of work includes plaster work and ceiling repair at Old City Hall, located at 202 N. Washington Street, Salem, Missouri, specifically in the main lobby, stairwells, and basement men's and women's restroom ceilings. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and disposal necessary to repair and restore damaged or cracked plaster surfaces on ceilings and walls as needed in the lobby and stairwells, encompassing 2-3 stories in north and south stairwells; feather and blend new plaster with existing textures; remove loose or damaged plaster on ceilings if necessary (with the majority removed by city staff); and replaster and repair basement restroom ceilings to achieve a smooth, uniform finish. General requirements include protecting surrounding areas, fixtures, and flooring, disposing of debris according to regulations, conducting daily and final cleanup, and coordinating access and scheduling with City staff. The City reserves the right to adjust the scope of work based on site conditions or budget constraints. Instructions to bidders specify that bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Old City Hall Plaster Repair" and signed by an authorized individual. Bids must include any supporting documentation or references relevant to experience in plaster or historic restoration work, and an itemized breakdown of all costs (including materials, labor, and disposal). Optional or alternate items such as painting or additional repair areas and anticipated completion timeframes should be indicated. Faxed or emailed bids will not be accepted. Proposals will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, with preference given to those whose principal place of business is in Dent County, Missouri. Factors such as the ability, capacity, and skill of the bidder to perform the contract or provide the service required will also be considered.
