Renovation of a water / sewer project in East Lyme, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The work includes clearing and grubbing a laydown/construction work area and installing sheet piling behind an existing concrete dam, known as Plants Dam, located at 475 Boston Post Road (Route 1) in East Lyme, Connecticut. Option 1 is to also add a low-level flow outlet and repair the downstream concrete slab and dam walls. Option 2 is resurfacing of the existing dam face with concrete and installing an eel passage on the face of the dam. Option 3 is to final grade and construct a parking lot in the cleared area to be used for passive recreation around the property of the dam once the dam is restored. Disadvantaged business enterprises are encouraged to submit bids, and no discrimination is allowed on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex. The project is subject to prevailing wage rates and contract compliance requirements as mandated by Connecticut law. Plans, specifications, and proposals may be reviewed online or at the Town Hall Engineering Office. Copies may be purchased for a non-refundable fee. Questions regarding the bid must be submitted by the published deadline, and any addendums will be posted on the Town's website. Bidders must attend a required Pre-Bid Site Meeting.
