This project generally consists of striping/marking removal, slurry seal, micro-surfacing,rubberized chip seal and combinations of sealant, and traffic striping/pavement markings affecting approximately 20 miles of County maintained roadways. This project generally includes various roadways in the regions of Marinwood, Kentfield, California Park, San Quentin, Marin City and unincorporated Fairfax. This is a road sealant project involving striping/marking removal, slurry seal, microsurfacing, and rubberized chip seal on approximately 20 miles of county roadways in Marin County. May require Class A contractor license and public works registration. Question Deadline 04/01/2026 at 5:00 PM PT Questions concerning the Bid must be submitted via electronically. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. To bid on this Project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's and all subcontractors' registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. Award of Contract: Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within sixty (60) days after the date of the Bid Opening. Award Period Extension: The County may extend the specified award period if the Lowest Responsive Responsible Bidder agrees. If the Lowest Responsive Responsible Bidder does not receive a request to extend the bid date, or receives a request but does not accept a County request to extend the bid date, before 4:00 on the last day of the award period: 1. Your bid becomes invalid 2. You are not eligible for the award of the contract At the successful Contractor's option, securities may be substituted for the required retention, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contract Code. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 7201 and 9203, the County of Marin shall retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance of the project. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. There is no pre-bid meeting scheduled for this project.
