Renovation of a museum in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
The project intent is to return the historic Lightship Ambrose to her original 1907 in-service appearance. The work will allow reactivation of the lightship as an educational platform in support of the South Street Seaport Museum's mission. The work will involve transporting the Lightship Ambrose to a qualified shipyard or drydock, stabilization of the hull structure and waterproofing, installation of a new composite wood deck, restoration of the deck houses and masts, rehabilitation of portlights, installation of new climate control and monitoring systems, and various other improvements throughout the vessel. The vessel will be towed back to the pier after completion. Late bids will not be accepted. There will be an optional pre-bid conference. This contract is subject to special experience requirements. This project is subject to HireNYC. Responses must be submitted via PASSPort, New York City's online procurement portal.
