Demolition and site work for a transportation facility in Carthage, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
**As of April 10th, 2026, this project has been awarded to D&S Excavating for $53,000.** The Village of Carthage invites the submission of sealed bid proposals to furnish materials and labor to complete the 215/216 N. Mechanic Street Train Depot Demolition, Project No. 2025-098, all in accordance with the plans and specifications. This work is to be bid under a single contract as follows: Contract No. 1 - Building Demolition. Bids shall be prepared as set forth in the Information to Bidders, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name, address, and phone number of the bidder and the title of the project. Each bidder must deposit with their bid, security in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and to the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or defects in such bid either before or after opening. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 45 business days after the date of the opening of bids. The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify bidders for any material failure to comply with the Information for Bidders and General, Supplementary, and Special Conditions. The Village of Carthage is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to completely demolish a partially collapsed train depot building located at 215/216 N. Mechanic Street in Carthage, NY 13619 as detailed on the attached drawings and documentation prepared and provided by BCA Architects & Engineers. Please note, this demolition may involve the abatement and removal of hazardous material and/or asbestos containing materials. Please refer to the drawings attached for additional information. The demolition shall include the removal and proper disposal of the entire building and accessory structures. The contractor shall coordinate the shutdown and removal of all utilities serving the structure, including but not limited to potable water, sanitary sewer, electric, natural gas and communications. The contractor shall coordinate all work with the Village of Carthage and BCA Architects and Engineers. Work shall also include procurement and general requirements, administrative requirements, asbestos and hazardous material testing and abatement if encountered, site restoration, demolition (structure), grading, fill, landscaping - lawn, utilities disconnection, and all other work and related materials as indicated on the Contract Drawings, as specified herein, and as required for the complete and proper execution of the Work. All work shall be done in strict accordance with the Contract Documents and in compliance with all applicable Local, State and Federal Codes.
