The Town of Lincoln is accepting bids from qualified contractors interested in hauling aggregates for its Highway Department. The work involves hauling, as needed, gravel and aggregates from specified suppliers to the highway department's stockpile at 281 South Lincoln Rd, Lincoln, VT 05443. Hauling and delivery must be coordinated with the Lincoln Highway Department Supervisor and will be conducted Monday through Thursday. Hauling is not permitted on weekends or holidays unless there is an emergency. The contractor is responsible for cleanup of any fluids that may leak or spill from their trucks and must accept and deliver loading slips from the pit operator weekly to the Highway Department Supervisor. These slips must state the volume of material loaded for delivery. Contractors may submit statements for hauling and delivery of gravel no more often than weekly and no less often than monthly, with payment processed within two weeks of submission. Failure to meet delivery requirements may result in ineligibility for future work. Bidders must submit a price per hour or trip for the delivery of material, which must be all-inclusive. The contract will expire at the end of October 2026. The Town will not supply labor, fuel, fluids, consumables, insurance, or any other goods or services. Contractors are required to provide and maintain insurance as specified, including Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto Liability, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance. Valid Overweight Permits are also required. Bids may be submitted by email, USPS, courier, or in person at 62 Quaker St, Lincoln VT, and are due by 5PM April 17, 2026.
