The work consists of constructing a new 4,000 square foot hydroponics greenhouse and headhouse. This includes selective demolition of site elements, earthwork, cast-in-place concrete, a packaged greenhouse building system, rough carpentry, hollow metal doors and frames, and door hardware. The project also involves related plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm systems. Bids should be sealed and clearly marked for the project, and must include a certified check, cashier's check, bank draft, or bid bond made payable to the owner in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Performance and payment bonds will be required from the awarded firm, each covering 100% of the contract sum. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain the required insurance and bonds. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and award the contract based on the lowest responsible bidder considering specifications, delivery, quality, and serviceability. Bidders must hold the owner and architect harmless from all liabilities and provide insurance, employee wages, and equal employment opportunities as outlined in supplementary documents. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the bid opening. All bids must be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes with the bidder's name and address on the upper left-hand corner.
