The project consists of the construction of the MCLJ Outpatient Pavilion, a new facility to provide space for patient medical treatment including surgery, imaging, exam, and rehabilitation. The building is anticipated to be approximately 180,000 overall gross square feet, located in the Health Sciences East Neighborhood of the La Jolla Campus, just west of the Shiley Eye Institute within the existing academic-medical complex. The overall project site area is approximately 213,000 square feet. The estimated total project construction value is $245,000,000. Bids are being sought for specific Bid Packages (BPs), which include either Design Assist (DA) or Design Build (DB) scopes in various trades such as HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical & Low Voltage, Fire Sprinklers, Exterior Skin/Glass & Glazing, Metal Stud Framing/Drywall & Metal Panels, and Pneumatic Tube systems. Only prequalified subcontractors listed for each Bid Package are eligible to submit bids. All trades awarded either DA or DB scopes are expected to begin preconstruction activities immediately upon award. The successful Subcontractor Bidder will sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with the Construction Manager/Contractor and will be bound by all terms of the contract between the Owner and Construction Manager/Contractor. Instructions to bidders include requests for access to bidding documents via Building Connected, requiring an email with company and bid information as specified. Only those prequalified subcontractors listed for each relevant Bid Package are eligible to submit proposals for this project. Required California contractor license classifications are specified for each Bid Package.
