The scope of work includes the demolition and removal of the existing fume hood and select casework within the laboratory space. It also involves modifications to the existing mechanical systems to support Owner-Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, including exhaust of the laser cutter. Mechanical work includes replacement of existing control valves and thermostat as required. Electrical modifications are to be performed to support OFCI equipment, including installation of new emergency power receptacles and replacement of existing light fixtures with new red/white fixtures as specified. Plumbing modifications will include reconfiguration of existing systems to accommodate installation of a new ADA-compliant sink and OFCI dishwasher. The ceiling assembly and all penetrations and openings must be fully sealed to maintain compliance with USDA guidelines. Accessibility upgrades within the laboratory space include installation of push pads at internal doors and required sink modifications to meet applicable accessibility standards. Each bidder must submit with its bid a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience on the Contractor’s letterhead. This must include documentation of a minimum of three and a maximum of five comparable projects, with a construction value at award of $350,000 or greater, completed in the past five years that demonstrate the bidder’s ability to complete the project successfully with respect to size, cost, use, and complexity. Ongoing projects must not be included. Inaccurate or incomplete information, or negative project references, may result in a non-responsive bid.
