Site work and new construction of a power facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade power facility.
Please see Invitation to Bid regarding obtaining full documents. The project includes construction of an all-electric central heating and cooling plant for the campus. The primary function is to provide space for mechanical and electrical equipment to serve the campus by distributing hot and chilled water, replacing the existing co-generation natural gas steam plant. The system includes a thermal energy storage exterior steel tank that will store 2 million gallons of water, located southeast of the building between specific campus buildings. The plant is one level, with the main entry on the west elevation, and also includes areas for Facilities staff, a control room, and an open office area. The north and east sides are mostly below grade, and the roof will serve as a recreational field with at-grade egress on the north side due to topography. Work Package Managers listed in the Work Package Matrix will be the primary point of contact.
