Wayne County Transit is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a covered bus shelter structure at the new Wayne County Transit Center. The structure will provide covered parking for transit buses adjacent to the new transit office building currently under development. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to construct a pole-barn style bus shelter with a metal roof. Structure Specifications: o Overall Structure Size: 144 feet (L) x 30 feet (W) o Configuration: 12 bus parking bays o Bay Width: 12 feet per bay with 11' clearance o Roof Type: Metal roofing system 3/12 pitch. o Structure Type: Pole barn style open-air shelter o Height Clearance: Adequate for transit bus parking (contractor to verify and propose appropriate clearance) o Layout: Open-sided structure to allow drive-in and drive-out bus parking The contractor will be responsible for: o Site preparation as required for construction o Installation of structural poles/posts o Structural framing and support system o Installation of metal roofing system o All hardware, fasteners, and structural components o Any required anchoring or footings o Ensuring structure meets local building codes and wind load requirements o Cleanup of construction site upon completion Contractor shall verify all dimensions and site conditions prior to construction.
