BC Timber Sales has legal obligations to maintain access infrastructure to meet all FRPA and SAFETY (WCB/BC Safe Company) requirements. The East Kootenay Field Team (EKFT) manages hundreds of km's of resource roads annually. BCTS will work with the Contractor to ensure that road maintenance standards are achieved. This is a solicitation for Right-of-Way Mechanical Brushing & Grading, with rates set per kilometer. Roadside mechanical brushing of approximately 17.65 km of BCTS Forest Service Road. Works require re-establishment of the original right-of-way boundaries. The objective is to optimize the driving visibility and safety of each road section that forms this contract. Ditch and Surface Grading of approximately 15.4 km of BCTS Forest Service Road. A minimum of 5 passes will typically be required to create a smooth and free draining surface with no loose material which cannot readily be compacted by traffic. Cranbrook, British Columbia will be considered the Marshalling Point for this contract. Project specifications can be found in Schedule C of this contract.
