This contract consists of furnishing personnel, equipment, and materials to perform scheduled maintenance on existing water and sanitary sewer systems as requested from time to time under normal circumstances, and emergency repairs on existing water and sanitary sewer systems under emergency circumstances. Work will include, but is not limited to, replacing failing, damaged or substandard water and sewer services, water lines or sanitary sewer pipes, fire hydrants, rebuilding manholes, making up new taps, and additional work necessary to complete this contract. Both scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs shall be provided as needed and at the request of the City of High Point. All miscellaneous work related to the above are included. Quantities and major work items are more thoroughly described in the specifications. No proposal shall be considered or accepted unless it is accompanied by a deposit of a certified check (or bid bond) in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. The deposit will be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after award or fails to provide satisfactory surety. A separate performance and payment bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, will be required after award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
