Site work for a water / sewer project in Mitchell, South Dakota. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The city of Mitchell is proposing improvements along 13th Avenue between Wisconsin Street and Minnesota Street to direct drainage towards a proposed detention pond located near the SD Hwy 37 Bypass. The project will include full roadway reconstruction and replacement of the existing clay sanitary sewer lines. Funding for the project is proposed through a Clean Water SRF loan. A project surcharge will be applied to repay the loan. The project involves sanitary sewer or storm sewer within the developed portion of the community. No mitigative action is required based on reviews by various governmental agencies and public participation. The project will not affect historical or archaeological resources, plant life, or wildlife, and no significant environmental impacts have been identified. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Comments supporting or disagreeing with this decision may be submitted to DANRMail@state.sd.us for consideration by DANR after publication of the Categorical Exclusion Determination. Categorical Exclusion determinations are final upon publication, DANR may consider comments provided if determined necessary.
