Village Of Darien USH 14 Water Main Replacement: South Walworth Street Construction of the Darien Water Main Replacement S. Walworth Street (USH 14) in the Village of Darien includes water main replacement in the right of way of S. Walworth St. (USH 14) from approximately 100 north of W. Beloit Street (CTH. X) to 275' south of Sweet Road. Erosion control and traffic control are required for all work areas. Major work items and approximate quantities include: 2,300 LF of 8-Inch PVC Water Main, 458 LF of 8-Inch DI Water Main, 100 LF of 6-Inch Water Main, and 1060 LF of 1-Inch Water Services, including appurtenant construction, including traffic control and erosion control. \ This is a unit price contract. The estimated quantities as indicated above and on the Bid Schedule are inserted only for the purpose of determining the low bidder. The following requirements apply: 1. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and sub-contractors performing on contracts funded in whole or in part with federal funds in excess of $2,000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, as determined by the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. Bid Security in the form of a certified check payable to the Village of Darien or a Bid Bond without condition to the Village of Darien in the amount of five (5) percent of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a proper contract and bond will be executed and filed within 15 days after the acceptance of the bid. If such bidder fails to execute and file such contract, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities not involving price, time or changes in the Work and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and the right to accept the Bid or Bids which best serve the interests of the Owner, subject to the provisions of Wisconsin Statutes, Sections 62.15 and 66.0901. Bidder awarded a contract for the work shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract price. Prime Contractor(s) shall furnish listing of all subcontractors and suppliers performing labor and supplying materials under the Contract that individually have a total value of $1,000 or more.
