Construction of the USH 14 Storm Sewer in the Village of Darien includes storm sewer replacement from an un-named tributary to Little Turtle Creek approximately 1,700’ west of USH 14 S. Walworth Street and 800’ south of CTH X W. Beloit Street to Winfield Court approximately 425’ west of USH 14 S. Walworth Street and 300’ south of CTH X W. Beloit Street. Major work items and approximate quantities include: 950 LF of Removing Storm Sewer 36-Inch, 370 LF of Storm Sewer Pipe Reinforced Concrete Class III 48-Inch, 580 LF of Storm Sewer Pipe Reinforced Concrete Horizontal Elliptical Class HE-III 38x60-Inch, 1 Manholes 8-Foot Diameter, 1 Manholes 9-Foot Diameter, 1 Apron Endwalls for Culvert Pipe Reinforced Concrete Horizontal Elliptical 38-Inch x 60-Inch, and 5300 SY of Restore Disturbed Areas, together with appurtenant construction, including traffic control and erosion control. This is a unit price contract. All bidders must submit a Bidders Qualification Statement seven days prior to bid opening, unless already on file. Bids shall be submitted on the electronic Bid Form provided through online, and all blanks must be filled in for the bid to be accepted. Failure to list subcontractors or suppliers may be cause for rejection of the Bid. Bid Security in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid. Bidder awarded a contract for the work shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract price. Prime Contractor(s) shall furnish listing of all subcontractors and suppliers performing labor and supplying materials under the Contract that individually have a total value of $1,000 or more. Failure to list subcontractors or suppliers may be cause for rejection of the Bid. \ Bid Security in the form of a certified check payable to the Village of Darien or a Bid Bond without condition to the Village of Darien in the amount of five (5) percent of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a proper contract and bond will be executed and filed within 15 days after the acceptance of the bid. If such bidder fails to execute and file such contract, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities not involving price, time or changes in the Work and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and the right to accept the Bid or Bids which best serve the interests of the Owner, subject to the provisions of Wisconsin Statutes, Sections 62.15 and 66.0901.
