The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, tools, equipment, and materials and performing all operations for the Communication Infrastructure Project. The scope includes the installation of fiber optic cabling both between and within specified City facilities. The installation between facilities utilizes approximately 66,000 feet of existing underground conduit and about 60 vaults, requiring the Blown Fiber method to accommodate the distances. The network will use fiber optic cabling of various counts from 12-288F. All cable splicing must use the fusion method, with splice trays and organizing cable slack in an estimated 60 splice boxes. The contractor must provide and install building entrances at approximately 35 locations, including cable supports and pass-throughs, per design documents and professional standards. All fiber endpoints are to be terminated and tested according to Tier 2 testing procedures, with documentation of installation and results as required. Bids must be submitted on the prescribed form and include all required submittal information and bonds. The successful bidder must have the necessary contractors and business licenses as required by State Statutes and City of Unalaska Municipal Code Section 9.04.
