Question Deadline 04/06/2026 at 3:00 PM CT The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the replacement of a ductile iron water main located at 7525 Bertram Rd. SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52403. 1.0 Scope of Work 1.1 Contractor shall demolish approximately 440 feet of existing 4-inch ductile iron water main within the tunnel, along with removing a section of the old sludge line to allow access to an existing wall penetration. 1.2 After demolition, a new 4-inch water main piping shall be installed throughout the tunnel, complete with new stainless steel clevis hangers and threaded rod mounted directly to the ceiling. 1.3 Installation shall include all required 4-inch gate valves, as well as four (4) new isolation valves to improve system control. 1.3.1 Once installed, the new main shall be pressure tested below the tie-ins, then chlorinated & flushed prior to final connection. 1.3.2 Pipe labeling shall be applied in accordance with facility standards. 1.4 A pre-build meeting shall be held before work begins to coordinate access, sequencing & expectations. 2.0 All Inclusive Rates All rates are to be all-inclusive and shall include labor, mileage, insurance, mobilization, demobilization, equipment, vehicles, data base, travel expenses, lodging, office supplies, office equipment, photocopying, overhead and profit and all other expenses necessary to complete the referenced project according to "normal" industry standards per the specifications, exclusive of all taxes. Overhead shall include all costs associated with project management, corporate accounting, invoice preparation, office rental and all other expensesindirectly associated with the project. Actual travel time to and from the work location is not reimbursable under this contract. The City will not pay for any additional expenses.
