Site work and addition to a warehouse / distribution facility in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the addition of a warehouse / distribution facility.

Proposals are requested from firms with extensive experience in the design and construction of metal buildings to expand an existing metal building used to store Christmas lights and displays for the City of Midwest City, Oklahoma. The professional services needed include designing and constructing an extension to an existing metal storage building for Holiday Lights Spectacular displays and accessories. Proposals must be typewritten, submitted according to the requirements in the proposal packet, and filed with the City Clerk. The envelope must have a legible notation indicating it is a proposal for the project. The specifications are considered complete as written, and any changes or clarifications must be reduced to writing and submitted to all prospective proposers at least 24 hours before the proposal deadline. No oral representations by any agent or employee shall be effective unless put into writing and distributed accordingly. Any correspondence, questions, or requests for copies of the Request for Proposal must be directed to Carrie J. Evenson, Ph.D., P.E., CFM, Assistant Public Works Director, City of Midwest City, Public Works Department; 8730 SE 15 th Street, Midwest City, OK 73110, (405) 739-1062. The Respondent shall provide a full range of professional services in order to design and build a Light Barn Extension. Respondent represents that all tasks will be performed in accordance with generally acceptable professional standards and further represents that the advice and consultation provided shall be within its authority and capacity as a professional. Respondent will comply with the regulations, laws, ordinances, and requirements of all governmental impact applicable to assigned project. The Respondent shall research and collect all data necessary to complete the Light Barn Extension. The Respondent is encouraged to propose modifications to the individual tasks listed below or the entire scope of services if the Respondent can demonstrate innovative, advanced, and wellthought-out methodologies to produce a cost-efficient Light Barn Extension that the City may not have specifically identified in the scope of services. These proposed additions shall be identified as optional items and priced out separately. The Light Barn Extension, at a minimum, will include structural, electrical, plumbing and insulation design and build services. The building and extension should be heated and include an accessible unisex restroom for City employees. Scope of services include, but is not limited to the following: 1. Condition Assessment and Site Preparation: a. Respondent shall review and document existing site and facility conditions within the project limits, including the existing structure, adjacent improvements, utilities, and access constraints relevant to the proposed expansion. b. Respondent shall perform a condition assessment of the existing structure at the proposed tie-in location, including visual inspection of framing, foundations, and connections, to evaluate suitability for the proposed expansion and identify any constraints or required modifications. c. Respondent shall review available drawings, records, reports, and other relevant documentation related to the existing structure and site, including previous construction information, utility records, and geotechnical or site data, as available. d. Respondent shall perform site preparation activities within the expansion area, including clearing, minor demolition, grading, and subgrade preparation necessary to support foundation construction. e. Respondent shall coordinate assessment findings and site preparation activities with structural design, foundation construction, and utility installation tasks to ensure continuity of work and minimize rework. 2. Structural Design and Construction: a. The Respondent shall establish applicable structural design criteria for the proposed expansion, in accordance with current adopted codes and standards. The Respondent shall analyze the proposed structural system and its interface with the existing structure b. The Respondent shall evaluate the existing structure at the proposed connection points to verify compatibility with the expansion, including assessment of load paths, connection requirements, and any necessary modifications to ensure structural continuity. c. The Respondent shall design the structural framing system for the expansion, including primary and secondary members, roof and wall framing, and connections. Design shall be appropriate for a light barn structure and coordinated with foundation, insulation, and utility systems. d. The Respondent shall prepare structural drawings and details necessary for construction and permitting, including framing layouts, connection details, foundation interface details, and general notes. e. The Respondent shall implement quality control procedures during structural construction to verify conformance with the design documents, including verification of member installation, connections, and anchorage. f. The Respondent shall coordinate structural construction activities with foundation, insulation, electrical, and plumbing work to ensure proper sequencing and integration of systems.
