Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Winhall, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
The project involves the replacement and installation of two existing culverts on Winhall Hollow Road within the Town of Winhall, Vermont. For Culvert #25, the contractor is responsible for compaction in 12-inch lifts (with the last 24 inches to be crushed gravel), installation of rip rap on the inlet and outlet with stone headers to retain the bank, seeding and mulching, temporary road closure for one day (with 14-day advance notice), traffic control and signage, and temporary paving within one week of completion. For Culvert #28, the contractor must refer to the attached hydraulic study, perform compaction and gravel as for Culvert #25, install rip rap and stone headers, seed and mulch, handle all State and Federal permitting in conjunction with the Town, manage traffic control and signage, allow for a one-day road closure (with 14-day notice), and complete temporary paving within one week. Instructions to bidders include attending a mandatory pre-bid meeting at Culvert #28, submitting proposals by the specified deadline, and including experience and ability details in their proposals. The Town reserves rights regarding proposal acceptance, rejection, and clarification requests.
