Renovation of an educational facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The City of Waterbury, Department of Education is seeking a qualified contractor to provide materials and labor for classroom renovations at Kennedy High School. Attendance and on-time sign-in at the mandatory information session for this RFP is required. The prebid meeting will be held at Kennedy High School, 422 Highland Ave, Waterbury, CT. Flooring - Proposers shall provide a separate cost as part of the Base Proposal price Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment required to: o Prepare existing VAT/VCT flooring surfaces to absorb new layer of tiles o Install approximately 2,600 square feet of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring o Install resilient vinyl base (link below) o Provide adhesives and related installation materials (specs below) o Coordinate with school personnel regarding floor preparation (currently wax coated) 1361 Barn Oak LVT with 47 Brown cove base o Vendor shall take all actions required to insure all doors close and function normally after the new flooring has been installed. Recommended LVT Adhesive (School / Commercial Use) 1. Pressure-Sensitive Acrylic Adhesive (Most Common) Characteristics o Pressure-sensitive acrylic latex o Low VOC / low odor o Moisture resistant High shear strength for heavy foot traffic o Works on concrete and approved underlayment Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives are widely used because they provide strong bonding, moisture resistance, and durability for vinyl flooring installations. Approved Products o Roberts 7350 Universal Flooring Adhesive o Henry 695 Vinyl Flooring Adhesive o Titebond 675 LVT Flooring Adhesive Work must include: o Surface preparation o Material installation o Cleanup and disposal of waste materials Adhesive Installation Requirements o Subfloor must be clean, dry, and level o Concrete must meet ASTM moisture standards o Adhesive applied with notched trowel o Allow adhesive to flash off (become tacky) before placing tiles o Roll flooring with 100 lb floor roller Question Deadline 04/09/2026 at 2:00 PM ET
