Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to perform concrete abutment and wingwall repairs at the Route 9 Entrance Bridge within the park area of Otter Brook Lake. The work includes repairs to both the north and south concrete abutments and the east and west concrete wingwalls in accordance with the Statement of Work, specifications, and drawings. The scope of work involves removal of all deteriorated or affected concrete in the areas shown on the drawings, surface preparation of the underlying concrete, installation of appropriate concrete reinforcement, and placement of new concrete. Approximately 525 square feet of existing parge coat shall be removed from the abutments and wingwalls without replacement. Concrete repairs shall include approximately 52 square feet of two-inch-deep repairs and approximately 133 square feet of four-inch-deep repairs. Joint sealant work shall be performed as specified. To prevent debris and repair materials from entering the stream, water retention structures shall be installed along each abutment. The Contractor shall provide all necessary temporary control of water measures to maintain a dry work area within the stream during construction, where water depths in close proximity to the abutments typically range from one to four feet. Following completion of concrete repairs and parge coat removal, the abutments and wingwalls shall be pressure washed. A penetrating sealer shall then be applied to the entire surface of the wingwalls, totaling approximately 525 square feet. All work shall be completed in accordance with the contract documents and applicable requirements. The magnitude of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000.
