Work shall include thorough surface preparation, application of high-quality asphaltsealcoat, and the restriping of all parking lot markings, including (but not limited to) parking stalls, ADA spaces, curbs, directional arrows, loading zones, and fire lanes. All materials, equipment, labor, and traffic-control measures required to complete the project shall be included in the bid. Contractors are expected to provide materials that meet or exceed industry standards for durability and performance. 1. Asphalt Surfaces (Parking Lots, Drive Lanes, Fire Lanes, etc.) o Surface Preparation: Prepare all asphalt surfaces districtwide by thoroughly cleaning parking lots, drive aisles, and fire lanes using blowers, brooms, and pressure washing as needed. Remove all dirt, debris, loose materials, and vegetation. Treat oil-stained areas with approved primer and fill all cracks 1/4 " and larger with industry-standard crack sealant. o Sealcoating: Apply commercial-grade asphalt sealcoat (two coats unless otherwise specified) to all designated parking and driving surfaces after preparation is complete. - See Appendix A for sealcoat and material specifications. 2. Striping and Pavement Markings o Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for restriping by ensuring all sealed or unsealed areas are clean, dry, and properly cured. Remove any loose or deteriorated existing markings as needed. o Striping: Restripe all districtwide parking lot markings, including: - Parking stalls - ADA spaces and access aisles - Fire lanes - Directional arrows - Curb markings - Loading zones and specialty markings o Striping shall be completed using commercial-grade traffic paint suitable for asphalt surfaces. -See Appendix B for striping layout and color scheme.
