Separate sealed bids will be received by the Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana for the Adams Pump Station Piping Renovation. Bidding documents may be obtained from the office of the Engineer at a nonrefundable cost or from the electronic bid submittal option. Prime Bidders must obtain Bidding Documents from the Engineer's office or the Central Auction House website. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, with the City reserving the right to reject any or all Bids for just cause. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 45 days after the actual date of opening. All bidders must attend a Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference at the Office of the Engineer, and only those in attendance at the entire conference will have their bids considered. Preference is given to materials, supplies, and provisions produced, manufactured, or grown in Louisiana, quality being equal to those offered by competitors outside the State. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bidder's maximum bid price, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or a bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to obtain a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: $2,300,000 - $2,500,000 The project generally includes the following major work items: Base Bid: Replacement of the existing below-ground suction headers with a common 36" above-ground header, new pump suction piping, a valve exercise investigation, and a new site drainage system. Additive Alternate No. 1 : City pumps discharge piping and header replacement. Additive Alternate No. 2: Mill pumps discharge piping, header and bypass replacement.
