Site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Winterset, Iowa. Completed plans call for the addition of a 55,027-square-foot, four-story above grade educational facility; educational facility; educational facility; and educational facility.

The project consists of additions and renovations to the Winterset Junior High and Senior High School, located at 624 Husky Drive, Winterset, IA 50273. The work includes new construction of three building additions for wrestling, auditorium, and art/FCS, to begin in the summer of 2026 and end in the summer of 2027. It also includes interior renovations to classrooms, hallways, and mechanical rooms, replacement of galvanized water lines, boilers, expansion tanks, lights, ceilings, and door security, as well as site work, new utilities, parking lots, and drive lanes. This bid issuance covers Phase 1A Bid Package B (Site Concrete, rebid) and Phase 2A Bid Package F (Earthwork and Building Concrete). Bids must be a lump sum basis for a single bid package as described in the specifications. Instructions to bidders include: Bids must be submitted on the approved bid form, with no oral, facsimile, electronic, or telephonic bids or modifications considered. Each bid should be accompanied by bid security in a separate, sealed envelope, amounting to five percent (5%) of the bid, in the form of a cashier’s check, certified check, certified share draft, or bid bond. The successful bidder must furnish proof of insurance (if required), a performance bond, and a labor and material payment bond within ten days of award, each for 100% of the contract price. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid opening. The Board of Directors may award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications, or reject any and all bids. Bidders are encouraged to facilitate the participation of Certified Iowa Targeted Small Business. A resident status statement must be provided, and Iowa resident bidder preference statutes apply. All bids are governed by relevant Iowa Code and School District Board Policies.
