The proposed improvements consist of full-depth concrete patching, utility structure repairs and adjustments, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and other work associated with the replacement of approximately 2,526 square yards of existing pavement and approximately 5,874 square feet of existing sidewalk along State Street from 17th Street to 23rd Street within the City of Bettendorf, Iowa. Work shall be completed between April 27, 2026, and August 1, 2026. All work must be performed in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineer of the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department of Bettendorf, Iowa. All bids must be submitted electronically through the City of Bettendorf's electronic bid submission website. No paper, emailed, or faxed bids will be accepted. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the City of Bettendorf in the amount of ten percent of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Bettendorf. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and maintenance bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. Contractors and subcontractors on this project will undergo a standardized evaluation upon completion of the work, which may influence future eligibility to bid on city projects. A preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and irregularities if deemed necessary and approved by City Council.
