The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. . Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove the existing roof system and install an approximate 1,200 square foot new roofing system, as described herein. 2. Subcontracting is not permitted under this Agreement. All references to subcontracting or Subcontractors as found herein are not applicable to this Agreement. 3. The services shall be performed at Caltrans Translab Facility, Building J, located at 5900 Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95819 A. Roof Removal 1) Contractor shall expose, remove, and properly dispose of the entire existing roofing system (approximately 1,200 square feet), insulation, rain gutters, and downspouts from Building J. 2) Contractor shall remove and property dispose of the existing insulation. 3) Contractor shall prepare the substrate, furnish, and install a complete waterproof assembly meeting the performance requirements specified herein. 4) Storm water requirements shall be met by Contractor throughout the duration of the project. B. Roof Repairs: 1) Contractor shall identify and repair any areas of dry rot or damage, including replacement of any damaged roof sheathing. 2) Existing rot or water-damaged sheathing or decking shall be replaced with in-kind materials (same section depth, lip width, and gauge thickness). C. Roof Installation 1) Contractor shall prepare the substrate, furnish, and install a complete waterproof assembly meeting the performance requirements specified herein. 2) Contractor shall furnish and install a new roof system to current building codes with the following components (see Item 14 below for additional information): a) Current code R24/R25 insulation (minimum four and one-half inch (4.5") thickness). b) Approximately 1,200 square feet of high temperature ice and water shield (to serve as the code-compliant roofing vapor barrier) installed over substrate. c) Approximately 1,200 square feet of wood nailers (sized to match insultation height), four and one-half inch (4.5") polyiso (ISO) roof insulation board, and onehalf inch ( 1/2 ") CDX plywood sheathing. d) Approximately 140 linear feet of detail metals and ridge. e) Metal roof, approximately 1,200 square feet, 22-guage, Purlin Bearing Rib (PBR) metal panels. f) New roof vents to ensure proper roof system ventilation. g) Approximately 108 linear feet of new two-inch by 8-inch (2" x 8") fascia with white paint finish. h) Approximately 32 linear feet of new seven-inch (7") seamless, white, gutters, using 24-gauge or thicker metal, on north side of building, with one (1) down spout, one (1) new drain pipe, and gutter guards. i) Proper sealing and caulking around all penetrations and flashing.
