In general, the work on this project consists of repairs to a permanent marine dock structure and replacing damaged floating dock sections with prefabricated timber dock structures located at Gardner's Basin in Atlantic City, Atlantic County, New Jersey as detailed in these specifications. B. Project Location: Gardner's Basin, North Rhode Island Avenue Atlantic City, NJ 08401 No interpretations of the meaning of the specifications shall be made to any bidder orally. All questions and requests for interpretation concerning this bid shall be addressed through online If indicated, bid submission shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of ten per centum (10%) of the total amount of the bid, but not in excess of twenty thousand ($20,000) dollars and made payable to the City of Atlantic City. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a bond of a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey, in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price. The bidder whose bid is accepted shall furnish to the City, a performance bond and labor and material payment bond, or a combination performance and labor and material payment bond, and at the completion of the work, a two (2) year maintenance bond, each in the amount of 100% of the final contract price, with such sureties as shall be approved by the City and as detailed and described below. A. The BASE BID work on this project is for the dock repairs and floating dock replacement as indicated in the project documents, and consists of the following: 1. Remove and properly dispose of structural pressure treat ed joists, decking, and hardware at the lobster dock as indicated on the Contract Do cuments. Existing timber 2. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of existing floating docks as indicated in the Contract Documents. Any existing timber piles shall remain. 3. Contractor shall furnish and install pressure treated 4"x14" southern yellow pine girders as indicated in the Contract Documents. This shall include all fasteners and hardware required for the attachment of the girders to the existing piles. 4. The Contractor shall furnish and install 2"x12" pressure treated southern yellow pine joists as indicated on the Contract Documents. This shall include all fasteners and hardware required for the attachment of the joists to the proposed girders. 5. The Contractor shall furnish and install 2"x6" pressure treated decking as indicated on the Contract Documents. This shall include all fasteners required. 6. The Contractor shall furnish and install prefabricated floating docks as indicated in the Contract Documents. This includes attachment to the existing floating docks as required to maintain a complete floating dock system. 7. The new floating dock deck elevation is to match the deck elevation of the existing floating docks. 8. The Contractor shall provide the city with six (6) floats from the existing floating dock systems to be replaced at no additional cost. 9. Any previous utilities carried beneath the docks shall be reattached and restored as part of the repair work. No additional payment shall be made for this work but shall be included in the cost estimate of the associated lump sum pay items. 10. Contractor must list all required subcontractors in his/her bid. 11. The Contractor is responsible for cleaning and restoration of the site to the preconstruction conditions. 12. All work not specifically described or listed in the specifications that are incidental to work completion shall be considered as included within scope. 13. All work not specifically listed in a bid form pay item shall be incorporated into the lump sum/unit pay items listed. The Contractor shall be given forty-five (45) calendar days to complete the project.
