The work consists of repairs to Lateral B tile of Drainage District 11, Hardin County, Iowa, located in Section 23, Township 86 North, Range 22 West. The contractor is to furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete approximately 328 feet of 15-inch tile installation; 110 feet of 24-inch jack and bore steel casing; 231 feet of tile removal; 89 feet of tile abandonment; private tile connections; concrete collars; removals; seeding; and other associated work. Bidders must submit bids on the forms provided by the Owners Engineer and enclosed in a separate sealed envelope, plainly identified. Each bid must be accompanied by a deposit of cash, bid bond, cashiers or certified check, or credit union certified share draft equal to five percent of the total bid amount. Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty days after the date set for opening bids. The successful bidder must execute a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price, and provide a certificate of insurance. Work under the contract must begin within 15 days of the Notice to Proceed and be completed by December 1, 2026, including seeding and finishing work. Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day will be assessed for each calendar day the work remains uncompleted after the completion date. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
