Site work for a water / sewer project in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Headworks Building receives all the wastewater treated at the plant. There are three (3) Vortex Grit Basins operated for the purpose of removing grit from the wastewater stream before it travels through the treatment plant. Servicing each Vortex Grit Basin are two (2) Hayward Gordon, XR4-12 grit pumps, powered by 25 HP TECO-Westinghouse motors. The pumps are in the lower level "Grit Pump Room" and convey the grit to processing equipment on the mezzanine "Residuals Processing Room". The Headworks Building Grit Piping Replacement Phase II project will include the removal and replacement of 4-inch, ductile iron, cement lined pipe and all associated appurtenances (excluding valves and actuators) from the first joint/ coupling past the sleeved opening in the ground floor "Screening Room" to the Grit Processing Units and from the discharge of macerator grit pump to the Eutek Grit Snail and the pinch valve on the mezzanine.
