Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Yorktown, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The project involves the installation of a gravity-fed, 300 gallon per minute oil water separator designed to capture and remove 99 percent of free and dispersed hydrocarbons larger than 20 microns, with integrated sensors to provide real-time monitoring. The installation is required due to observed hydrocarbons entering the sanitary waste stream from Building 270. Work includes, but is not limited to, excavation, shoring, construction of foundations, plumbing, site electrical work, controls and alarm systems, and commissioning of the oil water separator. The facility served by the system is located on an active airfield, requiring enhanced foreign object debris prevention measures and additional personnel screening for all workers supporting the project. The acquisition is conducted using a two-step sealed bidding process, with Step 1 consisting of an unpriced technical proposal and Step 2 consisting of a sealed price bid from offerors determined technically acceptable in Step 1. This solicitation and all applicable attachments are restricted to Multiple Award Construction Contract holders under the Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity MACC General Construction contract for the Hampton Roads, Virginia Area of Responsibility.
