The work consists of removal of the existing pavement, fine grading of the subbase, and placement of hot mix asphalt pavement for access and parking lot improvements at the Freetown Fire Department Station No. 2 located at 157 County Road. Sealed bids must be clearly marked in accordance with the Bidding Contract Requirements. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid price. base Bid- The base bid consists of fine grading and compacting ofthe subbase material and the placement of 4A inches of hot mix asphalt. The Town of Freetown Highway Department will be responsible for the removing of the existing asphalt and subbase material to a depth of approximately 4'A inches below the surface Add Alternate No. 1 Add Alternate No. 1 consists of the removal of the existing asphalt and subbase material as needed to a depth of4!4 inches. It is the intent of this Contract to perform all of the work associated with the project under the items noted in the Bid Form. All ancillary and incidental work associated with the project, as described hereinafter, shall be included under the various items of work in the Contract. A description ofthe work is provided in Section 00100 and graphically shown on Attachment B.
