This contract consists of furnishing personnel, equipment, and materials to perform regularly scheduled maintenance on existing and new storm water drainage systems. Work will include, but not be limited to, replacing failing, damaged or substandard storm water drainage systems including pipe, manholes, catch basins, drainage ditches, and any additional work necessary to complete this contract. All miscellaneous work related to the above is included. Quantities and major work items are more thoroughly described in the supporting documents. All proposals must be accompanied by a deposit with the City of High Point of a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. In lieu of this deposit, a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina may be filed. This deposit will be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after award or fails to provide satisfactory surety as required. After the bid award, a separate performance and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract price will be required. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
