The Town of Marblehead is seeking quotes for repairing the Stramski Peier located at the end of Stramski Way, Marblehead, MA 01945. The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks: Protection and Site Maintenance Protect all adjacent surfaces, thresholds, hardware, and surrounding finishes throughout all phases of the work. Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure work area at all times during the project. Structural Repairs Remove and replace six (6) sets of 3" x 8" cross bracing that were damaged as a result of the vessel strike. Sister both sides of the damaged pile with 3" x 8" timber members, approximately ten (10) feet in length, to restore structural integrity. Rail System Repairs Remove the existing damaged rail system. Repair approximately fifteen (15) linear feet of damaged railing panels. Reinforcement Work Provide and install tie-down supports at the stringer-to-pile cap connections at the distorted bent to improve stability. Permitting The Contractor shall be responsible for applying for and obtaining all required permits. Permit fees will be waived by the Town. Engineering Coordination The final scope of work and repair approach shall be reviewed and confirmed with the project engineer prior to commencement of work. Project Intent The intent of this work is to stabilize and make the pier safe for use during the boating season. The proposed repairs are not intended to realign or fully straighten the pier. All work shall be completed in a professional manner and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices. Cleanup: Remove all debris, materials, and equipment upon completion.
