The project involves the Additions & Renovations to Southwood Jr/Sr. School. Weigand Construction will be receiving sealed bids from pre-qualified contractors for the work and supply of materials required for the project. All bidding and construction shall be in accordance with construction documents prepared by Barton Coe Vilamaa. Each successful bidder shall enter into a sub-contract and/or purchase order with Weigand Construction. Each successful bidder may also be required to furnish Performance & Payment Bonds, if the related Bid Alternate is accepted, which cover faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising under it. Said bonds shall remain in full force and effect for one year from the substantial completion of the work. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder complying with the conditions for bidding, provided the bid is reasonable and in the best interest of Weigand Construction and the Owner. Bids must include a certified check or bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid. Pre-qualification requirements: To be eligible to receive a digital copy of the construction bidding documents, a bidder must be a state certified contractor for the work being bid or be prequalified with Weigand Construction, in its sole and complete discretion, by completing the prequalification form to the satisfaction of Weigand Construction and as otherwise required to be prequalified in the construction bidding documents. A bidder's ability to provide required Performance & Payment Bonds is a condition precedent to bidding, and any bid submitted without an alternate cost for providing said bonds may be determined as non-responsive and rejected by Weigand Construction.
