Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 4,800-square-foot, one-story above grade industrial development.
The project consists of the new construction of a compliant and appropriate Hazardous Waste Storage Facility with functional training space. The single-story facility will include central receiving, processing, and short-term storage areas for regulated and nonregulated hazardous waste, along with administrative support space, customer service functions, and a restroom with shower accommodations. A dedicated training space will be provided that also functions as a break room. Segregated hazardous waste storage areas shall be designed with self-contained primary containment connected to isolated secondary containment systems to prevent any discharge to storm-water systems. The facility shall be equipped with a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system that is compliant for all hazardous substances and includes required cybersecurity controls. The scope also includes a loading dock and associated site work configured to allow access for an 18-wheel semi-truck for the transportation of hazardous waste to final disposal facilities. All work shall be completed as a fully functional, code-compliant facility in accordance with the requirements of the RFP. Location: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), 20 MacDill Boulevard, Washington, DC 20373.
