Site work for a military facility in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a military facility.
Work consists of performing maintenance dredging to remove up to 100,000 cubic yards of accumulated sediment from designated reaches within the Duwamish Waterway federal navigation channel. Dredging operations will be conducted using a clamshell dredge and equipment designed to minimize environmental impacts. Work includes dredging in Section A (Sta. 254+00 to Sta. 270+56) and the Turning Basin (Sta. 270+56 to Sta. 275+56) to a depth of 15 feet MLLW plus 2 feet overdepth, and in Section B (Sta. 242+00 to Sta. 254+00) to a depth of 15 feet MLLW plus 1 foot overdepth. All dredged material shall be transported and disposed at the Dredged Material Management Program (DMMP) Elliott Bay Open Water Disposal Site. Work will be performed within the allowable dredging window from December 1 through February 15.
