Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Kenton, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work includes improvements to the Water Treatment Plant and remote sites. At the Water Treatment Plant, the scope involves filter rehabilitation, replacement of filter media and supporting gravel, inspection and repair of filter interior components, surface wash system rehabilitation, modifications and replacement of filter gallery piping and valves, installation of instrumentation and meters, replacement and installation of high service pump motors with VFDs, hatch replacement, bulk water sales station installation, sludge pump and garage piping improvements, coatings for process piping systems, HVAC replacements, electrical and instrumentation upgrades, SCADA system installation, and associated demolition. At various wells, the work covers installation of propeller meters, control and back panel replacement, sample taps, instrumentation and SCADA upgrades, electrical upgrades, and associated demolition. For the Elevated Storage Tank, tasks include installing a new 3/4 inch service line to an existing vault with pressure transducer, new Permaseal valve and fittings, decommissioning of altitude valve, panel replacements, instrumentation, and electrical upgrades. Structural repairs include concrete crack injection and spall repairs on flocculation basin exterior walls. Work shall be constructed under a Lump Sum and Unit Price Contract. Each bid must include a Bid Guarantee and Contract Bond as per Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, issued by a Surety Company licensed in Ohio. Contractors must, where practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor. Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 equal employment opportunity requirements is required. The project is subject to the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts federal wage rate requirements, EPA small business participation policy, Ohio EPA Water Supply Revolving Loan Account requirements, including EEO, DBE good faith efforts, and debarment provisions. The Owner may waive informalities, reject any or all bids, or accept the lowest, most responsible and responsive bid. No bids may be withdrawn within 90 days after opening. Submission of a signed Bid is acknowledgment and acceptance of all documents, terms, and requirements. Bid security must be furnished according to Instructions to Bidders. American Iron and Steel requirements apply to this Project. All bidders and contractors must comply with the requirements stated in the bidding documents. The Engineer's Estimate for this project is $5,500,000.
