Bidders must furnish a guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid, not to exceed $20,000.00, by certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond. All surety bonds must be provided by a company on the Federal Treasury List. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the bidder's name and address, and must reference the specific work. Bids must be addressed to the City Clerk, Ventnor City. The successful bidder must comply with various New Jersey statutes and regulations, including those pertaining to affirmative action, prevailing wage, public works contractor registration, and business registration. Awards will be made only to socially and economically disadvantaged business concerns certified by appropriate agencies, and the successful bidder must fulfill the SED utilization requirements of subcontracting or unrestricted bidding to meet a ten percent (10%) goal for SED participation.
