Renovation of a military facility in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Replacement of existing windows and frames on the north side of historic Building 52, including approximately 184 windows located on the first, second, third, and fourth floors. The work includes removal of existing wood windows and installation of aluminum-clad wood replacement windows that closely match the appearance of the original windows. Replacement windows will be double-hung, two-over-two configuration, double-pane, and colonial red in color. Most window frames will also be replaced, while existing interior casing and trim will remain in place and be repaired as necessary. The scope also includes repair of six non-standard windows, including lunette and multi-light sash types, and replacement or repair of eight mechanical openings with in-kind Mapes panels and/or louvers. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision and perform all work in strict accordance with the project drawings and specifications. The work requires general construction capabilities, including scheduling, cost estimating, quality control, and coordination of multiple construction trades.
