Sumter County intends to update the taxiway geometry at one end of Taxiway A to comply with current FAA horizontal geometry standards. The existing taxiway width will be maintained, with widening provided as necessary to meet the required geometry. The project will include pavement widening consisting of compacted subgrade, aggregate base course, and asphalt pavement. In addition, the project will include dewatering, lighting and electrical improvements, erosion control measures, pavement markings, and grassing/sodding. A Microsoft Teams link will be sent to all plan holders prior to the pre-bid conference. Attendance in person by Prime Contractors is NOT required to bid on this project but is recommended. The purpose of the conference isto highlight the Project and explain pertinent FAA regulations as well asthe Airport's safety, security, and procurement processes.
