The work consists of constructing levee, floodwall, and gate features as part of the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project, WSLP-103A. Construction activities include clearing and grubbing; degrading existing preload areas; placing sand fill and compacted clay embankment; driving steel sheet pile cutoff walls and steel pipe piles; constructing reinforced concrete T-type floodwalls; fabricating and installing a structural steel swing gate at Frenier Road; installing pipe sleeves through steel sheet piling; constructing an access road along the protected side of the levee; constructing an emergency bypass ramp over the levee; removing and replacing asphalt pavement; fertilizing, seeding, and mulching levee embankments; and performing all other work incidental to the project.
