Rancho California Water District (RCWD) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for asphalt rehabilitation and striping services at a District owned facility located at 28061 Diaz Road, Temecula, CA 92590. The purpose of this project is to remove and replace deteriorated asphalt and restripe asphalt where needed to maintain safe and efficient site operations. The work will include demolition, grading, compaction, paving, and restriping. All work shall be performed in accordance with prevailing wage requirements as specified by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Bidders must hold valid California contractor licenses appropriate to the scope of work and be currently registered with the DIR to perform public works projects. Asphalt Material and Compaction Requirements All asphalt thicknesses specified in this scope represent true compacted thicknesses. Contractor shall adjust loose lay thickness as required to achieve final compacted depths. All compaction shall follow standard asphalt paving procedures to achieve proper density and structural integrity. Milling and Overlay (Approx. 8,448 SQFT) Mill existing asphalt pavement to a true depth of 2 inches. Remove and dispose of milled materials. Mechanically clean milled surface of all debris. Apply SS-1H tack coat uniformly. Install 2 inches of compacted hot mix asphalt overlay. Full Depth Removal and Replacement - 4 Inch Section (Approx. 11,900 SQFT) Saw cut edges as necessary. Remove 4 inches of existing asphalt. Scarify exposed subgrade. Moisture condition and compact subgrade to 95 percent relative compaction. Install asphalt pavement in two lifts to achieve 4 inches total compacted thickness. Asphalt Removal and Replacement - 3 Inch Section (Approx. 5,200 SQFT) Saw cut edges as required. Remove 3 inches of existing asphalt pavement. Scarify and recondition subgrade. Compact subgrade to 95 percent compaction. Install 3 inches of compacted hot mix asphalt in one lift. Pavement Striping All pavement markings shall be installed after asphalt curing. Striping shall include parking stalls, ADA markings, arrows, and cross hatch areas as indicated. All striping shall receive two coats of traffic rated pavement paint with reflective glass beads
