Sealed bids will be received for the Seymour Modular Classroom at Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge Campus. Bids must be mailed, hand-delivered, or submitted electronically to the Purchasing Department no later than the date and time specified. Bidders must visit the site and become familiar with the local conditions under which the work is to be performed, as no additional compensation will be given for any difficulties encountered during execution. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, in the form of a certified or official check, cashier’s check, or bid bond payable to Southern University and A & M College. The successful proposer must furnish a performance bond written by a qualified surety or insurance company. Bidders shall include company name, address, Louisiana contractor's license number, bid number, and bid opening date and time on the envelope. Bids may be withdrawn by written or electronic notice received by the designated address prior to the bid opening. Evidence of authority to submit a bid is required. The university encourages participation in the Hudson and Veteran Initiative programs. The university reserves the right to reject all bids and waive informalities. Bids will only be accepted from contractors licensed for the specific building and construction classifications listed.
