Renovation of a mixed-use development in Nitro, West Virginia. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; playground / park / athletic field; fire / police facility; municipal facility; clubhouse / community center; and municipal facility.
**As of April 08, 2026, project was cancelled. They have no definite date for rebid yet.** The City of Nitro is accepting sealed bids for roofing and related projects, which should be bid both individually and as a discounted bundle for all projects. Each bid must include the bidder's license, insurance, and a brief company history. Manufacturer material warranties must be at least 20 years, and workmanship warranties at least 10 years. The projects require removal and disposal of old materials and thorough site cleanup. A "rot contingency" must allow for replacement of any discovered rotten wood. All drains must be checked and repaired as needed, and all roofs must be properly sloped to prevent water accumulation. Projects include: - City Hall: total roof replacement, including built-up roof, flashing, edge metals, parapets, and drains. - Fire Department: total roof replacement, including membrane, scuppers, parapet walls, edge metals, flashing, and drains. - CVB Building: total roof replacement, including membrane, scuppers, parapet walls, edge metals, flashing, and drains. - Athletic Complex: repair or replace the kitchen exhaust hood cap. - Public Works: build a new roof over the existing salt shed. - West Sattes Community Center: lower and add roof drains as needed, and replace six rooftop HVAC units and three damaged coils. Bids must be clearly marked, good for 30 days, and include required documentation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
