Electronic bids are requested for IT Infrastructure Improvements in Academic Buildings at Kent State University, Kent, Portage County, Ohio. All bids must comply with the version of the State of Ohio Standard Requirements for Public Facility Construction specified in the contract documents. Bidders may submit requests for consideration of proposed substitutions for specified products, equipment, or services to the Architect/Engineer no later than 10 days prior to bid opening. Approved substitutions may be accepted only by written addendum. Prevailing wage rates and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements apply. The project is subject to the State of Ohio's Encouraging Diversity, Growth, and Equity (EDGE) Business Development Program, with an EDGE Participation Goal of 5.0 percent, determined by the contracted value of goods, services, materials, and labor provided by EDGE-certified businesses. Bidders must submit required information about EDGE-certified business participation. Bidders must indicate on the electronic Bid Form the locations where services will be performed, in accordance with Executive Order 2019-12D, and affirm compliance with Executive Order 2022-02D prohibiting purchases from or investment in any Russian institution or company. Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Ohio Revised Code Section 153.011 apply. Bidders are encouraged to be enrolled in a Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) Program approved by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation before submitting a bid and provide related information on the Electronic Bid Form; if awarded a contract, further SUPR criteria must be met. General scope: Each contractor must include all work in their quote. There will not be any other contracts awarded by KSU to any other contractors. This will include all noted infrastructure, excavation, electrical work, HVAC work, cabling, sleeves, conduit, penetrations, etc. and misc. work required for a complete project. 2. All work is to be executed, detailed and completed per the university IT standards. These are included in the bid documents as "Division 27 - Consultants Guide. Review the attached spreadsheets and sketches for information on WAP locations, cabling routings, mounting method/equipment, description of location, description of work, sleeves, conduits, patch cords, patch panels, roof penetrations, etc. that are to be included with your bids. 4. When installing cabling and other items you will be required to coordinate with KSU Network and Telecom Services. You must follow the KSU labelling standards for each location, jack numbers, addresses, patching of cabling at each end and other items. The contractor is responsible for scheduling the project, coordinating subcontractors, and providing other services identified in the contract documents. The EDGE Participation Goal for the Project is 5.0 percent
