Major items of work include removal of existing sidewalks, play equipment, play surfacing, and play gravel, and installation of new concrete sidewalks, play structures, play elements, swings, resilient surfacing, storm drainage improvements, drinking fountain and waterline to drinking fountain, seeding and erosion control blanket. Possible trail sections with pedestrian curb ramps, modular retaining wall, and pavement markings would be alternates to the project as listed. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond by a surety company registered to do business in Iowa, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under US law in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and made payable to the City. A copy is to be uploaded in the requested area. Letters of credit and company or personal checks are not acceptable substitutes and will cause rejection. Bidders must include a list of at least three (3) projects completed in the last five (5) years similar in contract amount and scope of work, with phone numbers and contact names for each project listed. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, a certificate of insurance and a certificate of equal employment opportunity, and comply with minimum wage provisions.
