Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Cleveland, Ohio. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Southerly Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station (STDPS) will be located in the Village of Cuyahoga Heights at the southern (and downstream) end of the Southerly Storage Tunnel. The street address of the STDPS will be 4660 East 49th Street. The STDPS will be a submersible pump station of nominal 54 MGD capacity. The submersible pumps will be installed in the 65-ft diameter by 180-ft deep mining shaft designed and partially built out by others at the southern end of the Southerly Storage Tunnel. The STDPS Project will complete the build-out of the shaft, converting it into the pump station's wet well. A pump station support building will be constructed at grade over the wet well; it will contain an electrical room, a control room, restrooms, a meeting/work space and a large space around the wet well to support operation and maintenance activities associated with the submersible pumps and a deep bar screen raking system. In addition to constructing the STDPS facility, the STDPS project will outfit three remote flow drop sites with isolation gates and the ancillary equipment required to operate them. Also, at a number of remote structures already existing or built under the Southerly Storage Tunnel and Kingsbury Run Consolidation Sewer projects, the STDPS project will perform a variety of planned internal improvements to ready those structures for operation - primarily by removing flume pipes and bulkheads, raising weir walls, adjusting or installing weir plates and orifice plates, and placing concrete in-fill. The STDPS Project will commission the Southerly Storage Tunnel System and turn over a fully functional system to the NEORSD.
