Renovation of a fire / police facility in Lafayette, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The scope of the project consists of roof replacement, foundation repair, slab stabilization, root barrier, exterior repair and recoating, interior repairs, ceiling replacement, insulation, HVAC replacement, lighting replacement, and general renovations. The construction time is 210 calendar days, exclusive of delays beyond the contractor's control from the date stipulated in the written Notice to Proceed. Instructions to bidders: Bidders may submit their bids electronically at the designated website or in person at the office of the Purchasing Division. Bidding documents are available for viewing at the website, and the electronic bid package can be requested from the designated contact. Bidders must be registered online with Lafayette Consolidated Government to submit electronically and provide all required documents. Only a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check shall be submitted as bid security, with electronic copies of both the front and back of the check or bid bond included for electronic bids. Bids must be signed in accordance with requirements, and a Corporate Resolution or Certificate of Authority authorizing the signatory must be submitted. Copies of bidding documents are available at the Office of Purchasing upon payment of a non-refundable fee, with only checks or money orders accepted. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to Lafayette Consolidated Government in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid plus additive alternates, written by an approved surety or insurance company. The bid bond must be issued by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana. No contractor may withdraw its bid prior to the submission deadline; after the deadline, withdrawal is allowed only per specified statutes. Each bid must be submitted on the provided bid form. The successful bidder must execute performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the contract. Bids will be evaluated based on the lowest responsible and responsive bid in compliance with the bid documents. Contractors bidding $50,000.00 or more must certify they are licensed under the relevant statutes for Building Construction and show their license number. The government encourages participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in all contracts or procurements for goods, services, and labor and material. Question Deadline 04/28/2026 Bidders desiring further information, or interpretation of the plans or specifications, must make written request for such information to the Purchasing Division at least seven (7) working days before the bid opening.
