**As of April 17th, 2026, this project has been awarded to Errol & Deborah Hattaway Clamboat LLC for $41,500. ** The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids for the job of planting shucked oyster shells and/or limestone to serve as oyster cultch in locations designated by the Shellfish Management Section in Beaufort County and Charleston County. A total of approximately 15,000 U.S. bushels of shucked oyster shell and limestone is to be planted on State intertidal shorelines in Charleston County and Beaufort, South Carolina. Planting will start in late April 2026 and must be completed by August 30th of 2026, unless otherwise agreed upon by SCDNR and contractor. The work will take approximately 15 barge trips to complete the planting quotas. Specific areas for planting have been designated by SCDNR. Cultch will be provided by SCDNR and will consist of shucked Gulf Coast, South Carolina oyster shell, and limestone. SCDNR will drop shucked substrate to the specified boat landings. Substrate will be loaded by SCDNR onto contractor's vessel at the landing. The contractor will be responsible for transporting the material by water and planting the material according to specific instructions from SCDNR. SCDNR will be present to monitor the contractors planting's. Job Item #1 Planting 10,000 bushels of substrate in Beaufort County Location 1: The Sands Landing in Port Royal, SC (10,000 bushels) planted on S117 (Distant Island). Job Item #2 Planting 5,000 bushels of substrate in Charleston County Location 1: Garris Landing in Awendaw, SC (5,000 bushels) planted on S275 (Moores Landing) and S272S (Sewee Bay)
